It is powerful that it quickly raises humidity in an average 12ftx12ft room to 50% rH in about 2-3 hours. The cleaning routine is a lot easier, about once every 2-3 weeks if you consent to the unit dry out upside down on a towel after use each daylight. I ordinarily stop it on purple or green color when he goes to sleep. The steam is not passionate (never had a wet carpet or sheets). It has two settings and the head can be rotated.
