I have had my Holmes humidifier for years. Until I bought these filters I would use 2 filters each winter. With 2 weeks I noticed with the intention of the humidifier wasn't by up the fill up it normally would and with the intention of the filter was dry as a bone above fill up amount and not wicking. Normally the dry part of the filter turns brown before it dries made known. This one still was white. If these are from Holmes they have changed the structure of the filter and I will be looking for replacement filters somewhere else.

I bought these after looking all over replacement filters for my humidifier. I wanted the name brand, first equipment, not some low-deprivation knockoff. These looked low-deprivation as they indoors, did not peek like the first filters, were not I boxes, and did not be inflicted including the Microban behavior - just plain, beige filters in plastic. I wasn't expecting much. - I figured they either would not wick the water efficiently, or they would need replacing positively often.After using the first filter three weeks now, I'm lucky to crash I was ill-treat. The filters bring about fine, and are lighter and easier to handle than the old ones. They are a skilled value and I would buy them again.A couple of things I would recommend to get the best use:- Use a humidifier bacteriostat behavior to protect the water and filter from getting dirty, moldy or smelly. You can get a 32-ounce bottle pretty low-deprivation and it's worth it.- Flip the filter over as you refill the reservoir; helps the filter wear more evenly and keeps it from drying out so fast.- Clean and sanitize the humidifier base monthly, more if it needs it. The Bacteriostat keeps our pretty clean, but it's skilled to sanitize it regularly to get on to sure you aren't polluting your own air.

For persons of you getting only a week or two of usefulness from these filters, on a whim I ran one owing to my dishwasher using regular detergent and a few dishes. I let it go owing to the hot dry cycle, but reflect it might be better to pull it out before with the intention of. Approximately of the plastic screen was distorted, but not wickedly. The webbing was disturbed a bit but not wickedly. I put it back in the machine on the next filter change and it has been performing arts like a strain new one. I be inflicted with the modest humidistat gauge on my element, so as the filter goes bad it shows up on the gauge. My next test is to see how many times it can survive the DW. Will shorter cycles bring about? For persons with high amounts of calcium in their water vs the manganese I be inflicted with, maybe approximately vinegar as a substitution for of detergent. And maybe keep up 2-3 filters and run a dedicated cycle. Persons with aluminum cages on the filters might not like the DW detergents. Try it and add an attitude in this area it. I do reflect the engineering of these units everywhere they rely on tube proceedings to pull water up into the filter is ridiculous. My water doesn't be inflicted with mold or mineral deposits up your sleeve from the orange maganese, it just gets soil with dust kicked up by our transfer and the dog. The filters do get a brown dash on the top as they stop working. unpleasantly also get a colorless, odorless bioslime in the reservoir and most likely in the filter. This may be what is being washed out as greatly as no matter what thing. But I'm going with the DW for now, if not I would go owing to 12-15 filters a season. I tried the silver nitrate balls in the reservoir, but they didn't help.

I bought three of the Holmes HWF75 filters and they lasted for a cut-rate amount of than a month. The top of the filter will dry out and not wick water. I detest to say it but I think they are designed to not get on to the grade.

This filter has been in use now for two weeks and has by now lost its ability to wick fill up up into it as when it was strain new. Very disappointed that it by now wants to be altered.

I don't know what's wrong including these, but they need altered every few days, they will not wick the water!! I'd rather pay a little more & get the better ones. Bought a case of these last year & they lasted no time. Extremely disappointed!!

This filter is just as good as the first. I have been using one of these filters for ended 4 months now and there is no evidence of deterioration or mold at all. I will put forward two caring hints to the makings regulars: (1) Get on to sure you use an antibacterial preservative in your humidifier each time you fill up your reservoirs and (2) Permanently rotate your filter upside not working all time you add water. This will GREATLY boost the lifetime of your filter. Also, the twin pack is a splendid buy!

I have been tiresome to use this filter for the earlier cycle week. It will not WICK water. The top 3/4 of the filter stays dry all time. I have to pocket the humidifier dead from all other each 15 to 20 outline and turn the filter upside not working to get any use from it at all.

Cheaper choice for my humidifier, but the feature isn't as good (now and again splits away from each other a bit), and doesn't last as long.

I have purchased official Holmes filters as well as aftermarket harvest for ended 5 years. The ones purchased here are categorically worthless. They last 48 hours then cease to absorb and wick the water, thereby not allowing the apparatus to moisten the house. I will have to peek elsewhere to hold replacement filters.The service was skilled - the supplier of the manufactured goods to the vendor supplied an inferior manufactured goods.
